Additional Sharp Aquos LC37D64U 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Information

Once again, Sharp, the leader in LCD technology, has established a new design standard for LCD TVs. The new LC37D64U AQUOS raises the bar by fitting a large screen size into a incredibly small footprint. By changing the layout of circuits inside the LCD panel and by cutting the number of parts, Sharp's engineers were able to reduce the depth by 30%, allowing placement of the LC37D64U model in virtually any type setting. The LC37D64U utilizes Sharp’s proprietary Advanced Super View/Black TFT Panel with multi-pixel technology, providing 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio with Enhanced Picture Contrast Technology and 6ms response time. The LC37D64U is a HDTV with built-in ATSC / QAM / NTSC tuners and include 2 HDMI inputs, compatible with 1080p signals, a PC input and 2 HD component video inputs. Side terminals are included for convenience as well as RS-232C input for control. The LC37D64U features a sleek piano black cabinet with subtle, recessed bottom-mounted speakers. Features: 1) Full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) Resolution for the sharpest picture possible. 2) 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio and 6ms response time produce spectacular picture quality. 3) Two HDMI Inputs and dual component for the ultimate in terminal flexibility. All inputs are compatible with 1080p sources. 4) Wide Viewing Angles (176°H x 176°W) Sharp's AQUOS viewing angles are so wide, you can view the TV clearly from practically anywhere in the room. 5) Enhanced Black Level provides the deepest, most accurate black of any flat panel TV. 6) High Brightness (450 cd/m2) AQUOS LCD Televisions are very bright. You can put them virtually anywhere – even near windows, doors or other light sources – and the picture is still vivid. 7) Built-in ATSC / QAM / NTSC Tuners provide access to DTV and analog TV channels. 8) AQUOS engine with ASV technology provides high performance video processing for the brightest, most vivid colors and images.

What Customers Say About Sharp Aquos LC37D64U 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV:

Finally the wife agreed to replace the CRT TV. Sound is good too. The only assembly required was installing the base, and an allen wrench was thoughtfully included.

I was leaning toward the Sharp anyway, I liked its picture quality in the store, and the frame around the actual screen was smaller than most. The picture quality is remarkable, especially when switching between the analog and digital signal of the same TV station. My only constraint was that the new TV had to fit into the present cabinet (The new set had to be less than 25 inches tall).

The manual was clear, and channel setup was straight forward. The 37 inch set was just the correct height. I also wanted 1080p so the TV could support future upgrades, and QAM, so we could watch non premium digital cable.

The TV is a little slow changing channels, but only compared to the old CRT set. My only regret is not buying a larger cabinet for the old TV.

The Sharp Aquos LC37D64U exceeds all of my expectations in picture, sound and price. In a nutshell, the hi-def picture - from over-the-air broadcasts to DVDs is jaw-droppingly good. The unit was shipped immediately from Electronic Express upon ordering and arrived promptly at my house via FedEx. Even the FedEx driver was impressed with the speed of shipment and perfect condition of the box. As far as I'm concerned, it has been a very long time since either an electronic device OR an online retailer lived up to the hype but in this case Sharp, Electronic Express and Amazon have truly delivered the goods. Highest recommendations to all.

Just fits in. Most 37" sets are wider than the 36" opening of my cabinet.

The sound quality of this 37 inch tv is not that good. Rather tinny with little base.

The Sharp 37" Aquos 1080p has a great picture. I bought this set due to the size limits of my tv cabinet.

The picture quality is great at 1080p. The remote is a bit complicated so I use the Comcast remote and it has worked out fine.

This Sharp is only 35.5" wide. I believe that this set has been discontinued but I would recommend it to anyone who may find one for sale out there.

I am fairly certain that it is not my Xbox 360, because I do not have this issue with any other tv that I hook it up to with the same configuration. I called sharp about the issue and they suggested updating the software, but the software they had available for download was an older version than the one already on the tv.

There is one problem we are still trying to work out with it. We love this TV for the most part, the picture is excellent.

I have also tried a different cable all together with no luck. I have my xbox 360 connected to the tv using component (rgb) and have noticed that the tv will cut out to a black screen in the middle of playing a game for about 1 second and then come back with the info box in the corner as if the input got unplugged and plugged back in.

I've tried using the component connections on the side of the tv, but the problem persists. So far I haven't noticed the problem with any other source.

I plan on contacting Sharp again to see if they can come up with a solution.

The Sharp LCD TV I bought is a fantastic piece of equipment and the result of very good engineering. I particularly am impressed with the sharpness of the picture and the surround sound quality. I would definitely recommend this as a GREAT BUY.
